Born & raised the son of a basketball coach in Lorain, Ohio Jason Lawhead has been described by his father as a streaky shooter, not only on the court but also in life. Held back in the 5th grade for being a day dreamer & late bloomer was the first leap that drew Jason to comedy as a way to cope with life's cold shooting streaks. Family fodder, making sports funny and his overall observation on the current state of all kinds of affairs is where Lawhead best treads. Starting out at open mic's in Cleveland under the mentorship of legendary club owner Nick Kostis at Hilarities in early 2004 is where he started & by 2013 Jason had broke through as a full time working comic when he made a name for himself as a opening act for Bill Burr on both of Bill’s “Billy Bible Belt” & “Billy Red State” theater tours. By the end of 2015 Lawhead had appeared on Gotham Comedy Live twice, while also being selected as one of the top 100 comedians cast to season 9 of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He capped the year off nearly selling out his hometown 1,400 seat Lorain Palace Theater with his dad as his opening act in his self described "night of my life". He has opened for and performed along side some of the biggest names in the comedy industry. He is a favorite & regular at some of the best clubs from NYC to Las Vegas to L.A. & all parts in between. A contributor to numerous sports podcasts & talk radio shows, Lawhead was described by one comedian as if Lewis Black and Rain Man combined to talk sports, referring to his is vast knowledge, recall & relentless inions on the subject.
